Since that time, it has been Michael's mission to make sure that families everywhere have the tools they need to protect themselves, going so far as to pass out free pepper spray to his students.
Michael has been a Texas DPS-certified CHL instructor for over six years, and has over twenty years of firearms experience. He is also a NRA-certified Range Instructor and a NRA-certified Chief Range Safety Officer. As of this year, Michael has taught 1,426 applicants the required material to obtain a Texas CHL, and has a 99% success rate. In addition to his regular CHL classes, Michael educates Judges, attorneys, and peace officers on Texas Firearms laws and the Texas Penal Code. He has held several private classes for groups of home owner associations; church groups; attorneys; judges; and the students, staff, and faculty of Texas Tech University and The University of Texas at Austin. Michael also teaches an Informal Class at the University of Texas at Austin every quarter.
Currently, Michael is co-owner of Central Texas Gun Works, a company in south Austin specializing in firearms sales, gunsmithing, personal protection training, beginning handgun classes, and concealed handgun license training.
